JAMES FORBES
James brings over 45 years of experience in the development, construction, and financing of both residential and commercial real estate. His career began as a Loan Officer in the workout department of a NYSE-listed construction mortgage REIT, where he developed a strong foundation in real estate finance and risk management.
He later directed the production of more than 850 single-family homes and 350 apartment units for a major San Diego homebuilder before founding Forbes Development Corporation. As CEO, he led the construction and successful sale of more than 500 homes, condominiums, and apartment units throughout the Seattle and Portland markets.
Over the course of his career, he has earned numerous industry honors, including being a three-time recipient of the prestigious Gold Nugget Grand Award from the Pacific Coast Builders Conference and Builder Magazine. Among his most notable projects is the Watershed Park townhouse community in Kirkland, Washington—developed in partnership with Weyerhaeuser Venture Company—which has become a model for successful joint-venture development.
His work has also received national recognition, including a featured cover story in McGraw-Hill’s Housing Magazine.
